Victron Blue Smart IP22 Battery Charger 12/15 (3) CEE 7/7

Victron Blue Smart IP22 Battery Charger 12/15 (3) CEE 7/7

The Victron BlueSmart IP22 12/15(3) battery charger CEE 7/7 is intended for charging 12V battery systems from 230VAC. The charging current of this charger is 15A according to a six-stage adaptive intelligent charging algorithm, which can be used to charge 12V battery systems with a battery capacity between 75Ah and 150Ah. The charger is equipped with a 1.5 meter 230V cable with a round CEE 7/7 contour plug for Schuko sockets. All IP22 models have a plastic – aluminum housing with brackets for easy mounting. Battery cables (not included) can be connected to 13 mm² screw terminals. The compact design ensures that the Blue Smart IP22 battery chargers can be easily installed for indoor use in many environments, such as a garage, shed, shed, or in a boat or camper. Bluetooth Smart The Blue Smart IP22 battery charger is the wireless solution to monitor the voltage and current, to change the settings and to update the battery charger when new features become available. Highly efficient With an efficiency of up to 94%, these battery chargers generate up to four times less heat compared to the industry standard. And once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to 0.5W. That is even five to ten times better than the industry standard. Adaptive 6-stage charging algorithm The adaptive six-stage charging algorithm consists of: test – bulk charge – absorption charge – reconditioning – trickle charge – storage. The Blue Smart charger is equipped with microprocessor-controlled 'adaptive' battery management. The adaptive function automatically optimizes the charging process depending on how the battery is used. Storage mode Storage mode reduces maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use. Storage mode is activated if the battery is not discharged for 24 hours. In that case, the driving voltage is reduced to 2.2V/cell (13.2V for 12V battery) to minimize gas formation and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week the voltage is increased again to absorption level to 'recharge' the battery. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, the main cause of premature battery failure. Suitable for lithium-ion (LiFePO₄) batteries LiFePO₄ batteries are charged with a simple algorithm of bulk charging – absorption charging – trickle charging. NIGHT and LOW setting In NIGHT (night) or LOW (low current) mode, the output current is reduced to max. 50% of the nominal output current and the battery charger becomes completely silent. NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. LOW mode can be ended manually. Protected against overheating The output current decreases when the temperature rises to 50ºC, but the Blue Smart charger does not fail. Eleven LEDs for status indication Charging algorithm: TEST / BULK CHARGE / ABSORPTION CHARGE / RECONDITIONING / DRILL CHARGE / STORAGE / READY MODE button for setting: NORMAL (14.4V) / HIGH (14.7V) / RECONDITIONING / LI-ION

Electric propulsion systems in pleasure boating

Advantages of electric motors? In summary: Clean, quiet, low-maintenance, reliable, practical, super strong and very predictable and controllable range. Knowing more? be sure to read our blog post about electric sailing and then our practical experiences with these beautiful products.

Electric motors can be divided into the following categories:

Inboard engines:

These are engines that are built into the boat to replace, for example, an existing marine diesel or to drive a sloop with a built-in engine. Propulsion takes place, for example, via a propeller shaft or sail drive and the engine is usually placed along the length of the boat.

Outboard engines:

These are engines that are, for example, attached to the rear (transom) of the boat. These motors are therefore more flexible because they are easily accessible and removable. When there is a voltage of 24 volts or higher, we call it an outboard motor.

Whisper engines:

Whisper motors are the lighter brother of the outboard motor because of a voltage below 24 volts. They are often powered by an external 12V battery.

Pods:

These engines are therefore mounted under the boat . This therefore has the great advantage that the engine does not take up any space in the boat and is not visible on the outside of the boat.

Watercraft:

Our water scooter is an electrically powered swimming board. When used the other way around, it is also a double water cannon. This is not only a fun toy for small children, but also a very useful tool for less mobile swimmers.

SUP engine:

Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is becoming increasingly popular, but is also a strenuous sport. However, by equipping the SUP with an auxiliary motor, covering large distances becomes a lot easier. Be sure to read our test of the ePropulsion Vaquita SUP motor .

Canoe or kayak motor:

Just like for the SUP, we also supply supporting motors for kayak and canoe.
