Battery Protect Relay (48V/350A)

Besides remote control of the TBP, buttons on the top also provide a way to locally open or close the main contact. This is also required for marine applications. For external control, the TBP is equipped with a 5-wire interface cable. There is an option to implement signals for opening and closing the main contact via a two- or single-wire control. This provides optimal flexibility. The TBP is a bistable relay, meaning there is no battery power consumption when the main contact is in a closed position. This is a major advantage compared to regular relays that require a (sometimes significant) holding current to keep the contact closed. In addition to all the features and benefits of the RBS, the TBP also has built-in protection against deep discharge of your battery. It will automatically open the main contact as soon as the battery voltage drops below a programmable undervoltage level. Once the battery voltage rises above the programmable reconnect voltage, the main contact will close again. Another useful TBP feature is the Override Mode. In situations where the TBP has opened the main contact due to a low battery voltage, pressing and holding the close button (local or remote) will close the main contact for one minute. This allows the user to connect a shut down system with a low battery to a charging source, such as an inverter/charger combination. If the battery voltage remains too low after this minute, the contact will reopen. However, it will remain closed if a connected battery charger is recovering the voltage sufficiently during the bridging period.
