The E-series battery E40 is suitable for all Epropulsion engines, with the exception of the Vaquita.
The ePropulsion E40 is a LiFePO4 battery, which is approximately 30% lighter than average lead-acid batteries, but offers approximately 50% more usable capacity. In addition, LiFePO4 batteries have a much longer lifespan. They can handle up to 3000 charge cycles, while lead-acid batteries can only handle about 300 – 500 charge cycles.

1: Discharging and charging port
2: Motor communication port
3: CAN communication port
4: Charge status indicator lights
5: On button
6: Removable handle
In addition to the E40, ePropulsion has 2 more batteries. These are the E80 with 4096Wh and the E175 with 8960Wh. With larger batteries you can sail even further. All E-series batteries use the same charger.
Why choose an ePropulsion E40 battery instead of a third party battery?
ePropulsion batteries are designed for maximum efficiency, performance and safety. Our communication cable does not allow the use of third-party batteries. This has data accuracy to the meter and conveys useful information that ensures safety and performance. Third party batteries are not always capable of this.
Can I use third party chargers for an E-series E40 battery?
No. Third party chargers are not allowed for warranty reasons.
Can I connect E-series batteries of different ages in parallel?
No. They must be the same models of the same age. That's because otherwise you have different battery management systems and different cell configurations working together.
What is the communication terminator used for?
It improves signal quality. Without the communication terminator, the E-series batteries will not work in a parallel connection. See the last product in the cables and cable supplies group. Make sure you purchase this tool before making a parallel connection.
How do I switch the E-series batteries on and off in parallel connection?
Always turn on/off the main battery first and then the secondary battery. If you do this the other way around, damage may occur and the usable capacity may be reduced.
