Full range automotive DC/DC TS 400-25 (2)
To protect the vehicle's starter battery, the TS 400 will only supply power once the engine is running. This is possible thanks to the built-in engine running detection. Instead of this detection, the TS 400 can also be activated via a programmable input. The TS 400 is fully programmable through a very simple and user-friendly PC application. The output current (maximum 25A) has an adjustable automatic limit. This automatic limit becomes active when the temperature approaches a set maximum. The output voltage is adjustable for all automotive situations and, thanks to the automatic buck/boost regulation, is independent of the input voltage. This regulation also ensures that the current never exceeds the set value, even if the input voltage is higher than the output voltage. Frequently asked questions Q: I have a relay in my Euro 5/6 vehicle, but I don't experience any problems charging a second battery. A: If your driving behavior is not conducive to the smart alternator and you use little energy from your battery, you might not notice much of an effect for now. Q: Do I only need to replace my relay if I want to install a DC/DC converter? A: Yes, just replace the relay with a DC/DC converter and connect it according to the diagram. Q: I have a Euro 6 engine and measure voltages (in a 12V vehicle) above 15V. Can the DC/DC converter also convert this? A: Yes, the DC/DC converter was developed to transform this high voltage downwards. Q: Can I change settings in the DC/DC converter myself? A: Yes, this DC/DC converter is programmable with custom software. Q: If I turn off the car, does the DC/DC converter also turn off? A: Yes, the DC/DC converter uses a built-in engine run detector to measure whether the engine is running or not and will turn off when the engine is no longer running. Q: With a Euro 6 alternator, the alternator can even coast and supply minimal current. What does the DC/DC converter do in this situation? A: The DC/DC converter will then discharge the starter battery while driving, causing the state of health sensor to increase the alternator voltage again and start supplying current. Q: If I program an intelligent relay with a programmable value to a lower voltage, will that work? A: No. The result is that the secondary battery is completely discharged first and then can no longer be charged due to the low alternator voltage.
