MG Master HV 144-800V DC 300A
The main function of the MG Master HV 144-800V DC 300A Battery Management Controller is to prevent electrical misuse of the battery cells. With this as a starting point, the BMS monitors the various parameters to detect possible battery failures at an early stage. This is essential to ensure the proper functionality of using a lithium-ion battery system. MG's system philosophy is to build the system with one master BMS (MG Master HV) communicating with slave BMSs (lithium-ion battery modules). The Slave BMSs are capable of monitoring battery cell parameters such as cell voltage, cell temperature, balance control and enclosure humidity. All these parameters are sent via a separate CAN bus to the MG Master HV, which collects this data and monitors the individual parameters with different limits. If a parameter exceeds the limit, this is first communicated to the user (via the AUX. CAN-Bus). If the exceeded limit remains, the MG Master HV has the option to disconnect the batteries from the system by opening main switches. HV Power connection With the Amphenol PowerLok power connections, a series of batteries can easily be connected to the Master HV. These connections are robust and have an integrated HVIL (High Voltage Interlock Loop) to monitor the connection. The low contact resistance allows a continuous current of up to 500 A. Monitoring and control Critical parameters are monitored by the Master HV, such as cell voltages and temperatures of each connected battery module. A selected set of limits define the system boundaries. Different limits can be set for each of the monitored parameters. First, a control boundary that controls loaders or loads. Then a warning limit and third a critical fault that opens the safety switches that interrupt the current path from the batteries to loads and chargers. With a well-integrated system it should never be necessary to open the safety switches during normal operation.
