The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/24-15A (360W) non-isolated DC-DC battery charger is specifically designed for use in systems with an ECO (smart) alternator (Euro 5 / Euro 6). The outputs of this model are non-isolated, allowing the negative (-) to be connected to the central ground or chassis. This professional three-step DC to DC battery charger ensures that additional batteries in vehicles or boats can be charged effectively despite fluctuating alternator voltage. The Orion-Tr Smart can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth and remotely controlled via an external on/off switch. Furthermore, the device is equipped with an engine running detection mechanism. Bluetooth Smart enabled: Any smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth-equipped device can be used to check and change settings, and to update the charger when new software features become available. Fully programmable > Battery charging algorithm (configurable) or fixed output. > Smart alternator compatibility: engine running detection mechanism. Adaptive 3-stage charging algorithm: bulk – absorption – float. For lead-acid batteries, it is important to keep the absorption time short during shallow discharges to prevent overcharging. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure the battery is fully recharged. For lithium batteries, the absorption time is fixed, the default being 2 hours. Alternatively, a fixed output voltage can be selected. Remote on/off function: A remote on/off switch or relay contact can be connected to a two-pole connector. Alternatively, the H-terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to battery positive, or the L-terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to battery negative (or, for example, the chassis of a vehicle). Parallel connection: All models are short-circuit-proof and can be connected in parallel to increase the output current. An unlimited number of units can be connected in parallel. High temperature protection: The output current will decrease at high ambient temperatures. IP43 protection when installed with the screw terminals facing downwards. No special tools required for installation. Input fuse (non-replaceable). 12V and 24V models only.
