The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 24/12-20A (240W) DC-DC battery charger has been specially developed for use in systems with an ECO (smart) alternator (Euro 5 / Euro 6). This professional three-step DC to DC battery charger can the extra battery in vehicles or boats can still be charged properly despite the varying alternator voltage. The Orion-Tr Smart can be monitored and programmed via Bluetooth, and controlled remotely via an external on/off switch. In addition, the device is equipped with an engine operation detection mechanism. Bluetooth Smart Enabled Any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, tablet or other device can be used to monitor and change settings and update the battery charger when new software features become available. Adaptive 3-phase charging algorithm: bulk – absorption – float For lead-acid batteries, it is important that the absorption time is kept short during superficial discharges to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically increased to ensure that the battery is fully recharged. The absorption time for lithium batteries is fixed, standard 2 hours. Alternatively, a fixed output voltage can be selected. Remote-controlled on/off function A remote-controlled on/off switch or relay contact can be connected to a two-pin connector. Alternatively, the H terminal (right) of the two-pole connector can be switched to battery plus, or the L terminal (left) of the two-pole connector can be switched to battery minus (or, for example, the chassis of a vehicle). Parallel connection All models are short circuit free and can be aligned to increase the output current. An unlimited number of units can be connected on one line. Protected by high temperature The output current will decrease at a high ambient temperature. IP43 protection When installed with the screw terminals oriented downwards. Screw terminals No special tools required for installation. Input fuse (not replaceable) Only on 12V and 24V models.
