When using ABS products such as spoilers and roof feed-throughs, it is recommended to use Sikaflex 552 AT in combination with Sika Aktivator 205 30ml for reliable adhesion. Place the panels against each other and screw both frames into the corresponding half of the profile. Two profiles are sufficient for a connection across the full panel width. Preventing sagging With large panels, corner pieces alone become too light: the frame can sag between the attachment points. The connecting profiles support the long side and keep the frame level. Gluing instead of drilling The profiles are glued to the roof, and the panel is then secured to the profiles with the supplied stainless steel screws. No screw penetrates the roof membrane, so there are no penetrations that will leak after years. Airflow under the panel The profiles separate the panel from the roof surface. The ventilation gap underneath keeps the cell temperature lower and limits heat transfer to the roof. Installation sequence * Sand the roof surface and the bonding surface of the profile and ensure they are completely free of dust, grease, and silicone. * Apply Sika Aktivator-205 (https://shop.top.systems/zonnestroom/accessoires-zonnepanelen/sika-aktivator-205-transparant-inhoud-30-milliliter.html) (SOLAR0092532) as an adhesion primer and allow it to dry. * Apply construction adhesive and position the profiles. Do not introduce any tension, bending, or torsion into the system. * Cure according to the adhesive specification. Do not move the vehicle during this period. * Pre-drill the panel frame and secure the panel to the profiles with the supplied stainless steel screws. Note: ABS requires a suitable adhesive and adhesion primer. Reliable adhesion cannot be guaranteed without pretreatment of the bonding surfaces.
