Torqeedo Power 48-5000: Battery for Cruise 48V engines
The Torqeedo Power 48-5000 is a 48-volt lithium battery with a capacity of 5000W. The Torqeedo Power 48-5000 is relatively lightweight, weighing only 37 kilograms. This is approximately 70% lighter than lead-acid batteries. Unlike other batteries, the Torqeedo Power 48-5000 is easy to transport due to its light weight. The battery is also equipped with handles for easy transport. The Torqeedo Power 48-5000 lithium battery is suitable for the Torqeedo Cruise 4.0 and 10.0. The combination of the battery and the Torqeedo models has a highly efficient propulsion system, and the battery and models communicate excellently with each other. Furthermore, the Torqeedo Power 48-5000 is equipped with water sensor protection. This protection ensures that the battery voltage is automatically switched off if water enters. This option is purely a safety measure and is not required, as the Torqeedo Power Series 24-3500 has a fully waterproof housing and plug connection. It's no wonder the battery has an IP67 rating. This means the Torqeedo Power 48-5000 is dust and water resistant, even if briefly submerged in water up to one meter deep. The battery also features an advanced battery management system. This protects the battery against reverse polarity, sparks, overload, and overheating, resulting in a longer battery life. The Torqeedo Power 48-5000 has 3000 charge cycles with a maximum discharge of 80%. The Torqeedo Power 48-5000 has a maximum discharge current of 200A. Lithium batteries are extra protected. Each battery cell is protected by a steel cylinder and equipped with multiple hardware safety mechanisms. The batteries in the Torqeedo Power 48-5000 are also called a high-quality lithium battery.
