To celebrate the success of the Travel motors, Torqeedo is temporarily releasing the Travel 903. This model represents the best that current Travel motors have to offer: the lightest and quietest in its class, with the power of the 1103, but with a longer range and a more competitive price.
To celebrate the success of the Travel motors, Torqeedo is temporarily releasing the Travel 903. This model represents the best that current Travel motors have to offer: the lightest and quietest in its class, with the power of the 1103, but with a longer range and a more competitive price.
Thanks to an RPM adjustment and a more efficient propeller, you can sail over 10% longer on the 915-watt-hour battery! The unique design with black elements makes the motor recognizable as a special Travel model. This model is available in short-shaft and long-shaft versions and is a limited edition, while supplies last.
The Torqeedo Travel 603 and 1103 are the most successful electric outboard motors worldwide due to their advanced technology, efficiency and user-friendliness.
The Torqeedo Travel 1103 is the strongest motor in the Torqeedo Travel series.
The high torque and the specially designed large propeller make the Travel engines the most efficient in their class. Thanks to the fast engine response, you immediately experience the power when sailing away.
The whisper-quiet motor and direct drive ensure the lowest possible noise level, so you can enjoy the peace and quiet on the water even more.
You can go even further with an extra battery. They are very easy and quick to change on the go.
There are a large number of cells inside the lithium battery. The quality thereof is decisive for the end result, the lifespan and the power output. Torqeedo uses strong, individually welded, high-quality cylindrical cells. Multiple protection and equipped with an advanced battery management system (BMS). That is a big difference compared to cheaper and more vulnerable pouch cell batteries such as those used in, for example, a mobile phone or laptop. These types of batteries are much more sensitive to heat, vibration and shock than the cells used in our Torqeedo batteries.
A complete Torqeedo Travel 603 weighs only 15.5kg and the battery even floats! The powerful Torqeedo Travel 1103 still weighs only 17.3kg. This makes both engines easy to install and to take with you or store. You can easily remove the battery and throttle and put everything in 2 handy and beautiful bags.
All Torqeedo products are designed and manufactured in Germany. With solid German technology, for a long lifespan. That is also sustainable: short transport lines from the factory to you as a customer.
On the display you can see not only the battery condition, power and remaining sailing time, but also the GPS speed and range. You can also see all this and the map position on your smartphone via an optional Bluetooth transmitter and the free app.
With the optional USB adapter in the charging port of the battery, you immediately have power on board. This way you can easily charge your smartphone, camera or lighting.
A 220V charger adapter is included as standard, with which you can charge the battery at home or in the port. However, you can also optionally use the special 12V cable for the on-board power supply of a mother ship. You can charge even more sustainably with the optional 50W foldable solar panel that can be connected directly to the battery.

Which engine suits which boat also depends on the sailing area. When sailing on sheltered water and for shorter distances, a lighter engine can be used than on open water. The above is a guideline for determining your choice. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about this.

Various accessories are available for the Torqeedo Travel motors that make use even easier. Consider a practical bag set to easily take the engine with you or a remote control with which you can operate the engine from the cockpit of the boat. Handy for sailors with an aft deck. There are also several options for charging. In addition to the standard 220V charger supplied, it is also possible to use the optional 12V charging cable to charge via the mothership's on-board electrical system. You can charge even more sustainably with the 50W foldable solar panel that you can purchase as an accessory. This can be connected directly to the battery and can even charge while sailing.
Advantages of electric motors? In summary: Clean, quiet, low-maintenance, reliable, practical, super strong and very predictable and controllable range. Knowing more? be sure to read our blog post about electric sailing and then our practical experiences with these beautiful products.
Inboard engines: |
These are engines that are built into the boat to replace, for example, an existing marine diesel or to drive a sloop with a built-in engine. Propulsion takes place, for example, via a propeller shaft or sail drive and the engine is usually placed along the length of the boat. |
Outboard engines: |
These are engines that are, for example, attached to the rear (transom) of the boat. These motors are therefore more flexible because they are easily accessible and removable. When there is a voltage of 24 volts or higher, we call it an outboard motor. |
Whisper engines: |
Whisper motors are the lighter brother of the outboard motor because of a voltage below 24 volts. They are often powered by an external 12V battery. |
Pods: |
These engines are therefore mounted under the boat . This therefore has the great advantage that the engine does not take up any space in the boat and is not visible on the outside of the boat. |
Watercraft: |
Our water scooter is an electrically powered swimming board. When used the other way around, it is also a double water cannon. This is not only a fun toy for small children, but also a very useful tool for less mobile swimmers. |
SUP engine: |
Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is becoming increasingly popular, but is also a strenuous sport. However, by equipping the SUP with an auxiliary motor, covering large distances becomes a lot easier. Be sure to read our test of the ePropulsion Vaquita SUP motor . |
Canoe or kayak motor: |
Just like for the SUP, we also supply supporting motors for kayak and canoe. |
