Victron Argodiode 160-2AC 2 160A
Thanks to the use of Schottky diodes, the voltage loss of the Argo charging current distributors is very low: only 0.3V at low current and 0.45V at maximum current. All models are equipped with a compensation diode that can be used to slightly increase the alternator voltage. This compensates for the voltage loss across the charging current distribution diodes. Dynamo 'energize' connection Some dynamos only start charging if there is voltage on the B+ connection. When the alternator is connected directly to a battery, there will be voltage on the B+ connection. However, a diode or FET charging current divider isolates the batteries from the alternator so that it will not start. The new 'AC' diode charging current distributors have a separate current-limited 'Energize' connection with which voltage can be applied to the B+ connection when the ignition switch of the engine is placed in the ignition position.
