Storage mode Storage mode is activated if the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float voltage is reduced to 13.2 V to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to absorption level to "recharge" the battery. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, the main cause of premature battery failure. Protection The charger is protected against overheating and reverse polarity connection. The output current decreases when the temperature rises to 40 ºC, but the charger does not stop. The output relay protects against reverse polarity. Five LEDs for status and mode indication The charger always starts in STANDBY mode when connected to an AC power supply. When the AC power supply is connected, the STANDBY LED lights up. There is no voltage at the output. After connecting to a battery (battery voltage must be higher than 8.5 V), the MODE button allows you to select from three charging profiles.
