Depending on the status of the battery(s), the BMS will: Provide a pre-alarm to warn of impending cell voltage depletion. Switch off inverter charging when the cell voltage is too low; for VE.Bus inverters or inverter/chargers this is done via the VE-Bus, and for other loads via the "Load disconnect" terminal. Switch off inverter charging when the cell voltage is too high or too high or too low; for VE.Bus inverters or inverter/chargers charging is switched off via the VE-Bus, for other chargers this is switched off via the "Load disconnect" terminal. The "original" VE.Bus BMS is preferred for systems without a GX device. The VE.Bus BMS V2 is the "next generation" and has additional features, such as: External on/off connection terminals. – Capable of switching off VE.Direct and VE.Can solar chargers via a GX device. – Possibility to control the VE.Bus inverter/charger from multiple devices, such as the Digital Multi Control, the VE.Bus Smart dongle and/or a GX device. – Connection terminals for auxiliary power input and auxiliary power output, allowing a GX device to remain powered even when the system is switched off.
