The BMV-702 battery monitor measures with very high precision within a supply voltage range of 6.5–95 VDC. The essential function of a battery monitor is to calculate the battery status and the number of ampere-hours consumed. The BMV-702 battery monitor optionally displays the battery voltage, current, ampere-hours consumed, remaining battery capacity, and time remaining. These last two parameters ensure that you can read the remaining battery capacity as accurately as at a gas pump. An advanced backlit LCD display clearly shows all values. Battery "fuel gauge," time remaining indicator, and much more. The remaining battery capacity depends on the ampere-hours consumed, the discharge current, the temperature, and the age of the battery. Complex software algorithms are required to account for all these variables. In addition to the main display options, such as voltage, current, and ampere-hours consumed, the BMV-700 series also shows the state of charge, the time remaining, and the power consumption in watts. The BMV-702 features an additional input that can be programmed to measure voltage (of a second battery), temperature, or midpoint voltage (see below). Bluetooth Smart: Use the Bluetooth Smart dongle to monitor your batteries with Apple or Android smartphones, tablets, MacBooks, and other devices. Easy to install: All electrical connections are made to the quick-connect circuit board on the current shunt. The shunt connects to the monitor with a standard RJ12 telephone cable. Included: RJ 12 cable (10m) and battery cable with fuse (2m); no other components are required. Also included are a separate bezel for a square or round display front appearance, a retaining ring for rear mounting, and screws for front mounting. Easy to program (with your smartphone!). A quick installation menu and a detailed setup menu with scrolling text guide the user through the various settings.
