The Victron BlueSmart IP22 24/8 (1) 120V NEMA 5-15 battery charger is designed for charging 24V battery systems from 120VAC. This charger has an 8A charging current, using a six-stage adaptive intelligent charging algorithm, suitable for charging 24V battery systems with battery capacities between 40Ah and 80Ah. The charger includes a 1.5-meter 120V cable with a NEMA 5-15 grounded plug for 5-15 sockets. All IP22 models have a plastic-aluminum housing with brackets for easy mounting. Battery cables (not included) can be connected to 13mm² screw terminals. The compact design allows the BlueSmart IP22 battery chargers to be easily installed for indoor use in many environments, such as a garage, shed, storage, or in a boat or camper. Bluetooth Smart The Blue Smart IP22 battery charger is the wireless solution for monitoring voltage and current, adjusting settings, and updating the charger when new features become available. Highly efficient With up to 94% efficiency, these chargers generate up to four times less heat than the industry standard. And once the battery is fully charged, power consumption drops to 0.5W. That's five to ten times better than the industry standard. Adaptive 6-step charging algorithm The adaptive six-step charging algorithm consists of: test, bulk, absorption, reconditioning, float, and storage. The Blue Smart charger features microprocessor-controlled "adaptive" battery management. This adaptive function automatically optimizes the charging process based on how the battery is being used. Storage mode Storage mode reduces maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use. Storage mode is activated when the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In that case, the float voltage is reduced to 4.4V/cell (26.4V for a 24V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to absorption level to 'top up' the battery. This prevents stratification of the electrolyte and sulfation, the main cause of premature battery failure. Suitable for lithium-ion (LiFePO₄) batteries LiFePO₄ batteries are charged with a simple bulk – absorption – float algorithm. NIGHT and LOW setting In NIGHT or LOW mode, the output current is reduced to max. 50% of the nominal output current, and the charger becomes completely silent. NIGHT mode ends automatically after 8 hours. LOW mode can be ended manually. Overheat protection The output current will decrease when the temperature rises to 50ºC, but the Blue Smart Charger will not shut down.
