The Victron BlueSmart IP67 24V 12A waterproof battery charger NEMA 5-15R 120VAC is intended for charging 24V battery systems from 120VAC. The charging current of this charger is 12A according to a five-stage adaptive intelligent charging algorithm, which allows 24V battery systems with a battery capacity between 60Ah and 120Ah to be charged. The charger is equipped with a NEMA 5-15R plug for 5-15 sockets. All models have a die-cast aluminum housing with resin-cast electronics, so water, dirt and oil cannot cause damage. The robust waterproof, shockproof and fireproof design ensures that these Blue Smart IP67 battery chargers can be used in many environments, such as a car shed, shipyard, marina, camping or for racing competitions. Recovery of deeply discharged 'dead' batteries Unlike other brands, the Blue Smart IP67 charger Waterproof attempts to recharge a deeply discharged battery by forcing it to charge at a low voltage. Normal charging will then resume as soon as sufficient voltage is present at the battery terminals. Remotely checking the battery status The Blue Smart IP67 Waterproof has built-in Bluetooth, so that the status of the charger and the battery can be checked on a smartphone, tablet or laptop. All charger settings can be configured with the VictronConnect app. Bluetooth Smart enabled The Blue Smart IP67 battery charger is the wireless solution to monitor voltage and current, to change settings and to update the battery charger when new features become available. With Bluetooth, the functionality of the IP67 battery charger is increased and is similar to that of the IP22 and IP65 battery chargers. Adaptive 5-stage charging algorithm The Blue Smart battery charger is equipped with microprocessor-controlled adaptive battery management. The adaptive function automatically optimizes the charging process depending on how the battery is used. The five-stage adaptive intelligent charging algorithm provides charging with an algorithm of bulk charging, absorption charging, reconditioning, trickle charging and storage. Also charges lithium-ion (LiFePO₄) batteries. LiFePO₄ batteries are charged using a simple algorithm of bulk charging, absorption charging, trickle charging. Storage mode: Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not used. The storage mode is activated if the battery is not discharged for 24 hours. In that case, the driving voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (13.2 V for 12 V battery) to minimize gas formation and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week the voltage is increased again to absorption level to 'recharge' the battery. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, the main cause of premature battery failure. Protected against overheating Can be used in a warm environment such as an engine room. The output current decreases as the temperature rises to 60 ºC, but the charger does not fail. Two LEDs for status indication. Yellow LED: bulk charge (flashing quickly), absorption charge (flashing slowly), trickle charge (on permanently), storage charge (off). Green LED: power on.
