Victron BlueSolar PWM 12/24V-5A LCD&USB
The Victron BlueSolar PWM 12/24V-5A LCD & USB charge controller performs well in small systems when the solar panel temperature is moderate to high (between 45°C and 75°C). This solar charger model has a nominal charging current of 5A. The maximum solar voltage is 28V for a 12V system and 55V for a 24V system. The input voltage of a PWM controller is essentially equal to the voltage of the battery connected to the output. Therefore, the solar panel is usually not used at its maximum current point. The PWM controller is essentially a switch that connects the solar panel to the battery. When the switch is closed, the panel and battery are at nearly the same voltage. The voltage will slowly increase as the battery's state increases. When the absorption voltage is reached, the PWM controller begins to disconnect and reconnect the panel to prevent overload (hence the name: Pulse Width Modulated controller). Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) is the most effective way to charge a battery at constant voltage. The Victron PWM controllers have an automatic voltage detection system 12/24V. Specifications: > Battery voltage 12/24V with an automatic voltage detection system > Nominal charge current: 5A > Maximum solar voltage: 28V / 55V – Use 36-cell solar panels for 12V – Use 72-cell solar panels for 24V or 2x 36-cell in series – Use 2x 72-cell solar panels for 48V or 4x 36-cell in series > Self-consumption: Operating temperature range: -35 to +60°C (full load) > Humidity (non-condensing): Max 95% LCD display For status check and settings Output load Deep discharge of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the output load. The output load will cut off the load when the battery has reached the preset discharge voltage. Some loads (particularly inverters) are best connected directly to the battery and the inverter's remote control to the output load. A special interface cable may be required; consult the manual. The connection and disconnection voltages are adjustable. Day/night timing of the output load: This option allows you to set the ON time after sunset. Programmable battery charging algorithm: Pre-programmed algorithm for AGM, GEL, Flooded, or LiFePO4 batteries (only for lithium batteries with an internal BMS). Two 5-volt USB outputs: Maximum current (both outputs combined): 2A
