The chargers are also protected against high ambient temperatures: temperature sensors ensure that the charging current is regulated again before damage due to overheating can occur. Three-stage charging characteristic, with temperature compensation The absorption period starts after the charging current has decreased to 70% of the nominal current. After 4 hours of absorption charging, the Centaur switches to maintenance charging (float charging). The charging voltage is compensated with an internal temperature sensor (– 2 mV / ºC per cell) and can be set with DIP switches for open lead batteries, gel batteries or AGM batteries.
