Victron Gel battery 12V/60Ah
The Victron 12V/60Ah GEL battery is a sealed battery with a capacity of 60Ah based on VRLA technology. A GEL battery is especially suitable for slow discharge, for system power consumers, on-board equipment, and LED lighting. The battery connections are made of copper with holes for M6 bolts to ensure good contact. Crimp terminals can be mounted directly onto the battery, and battery terminals are not required. The batteries meet both European CE and American UL specifications in fire-resistant ABS enclosures and come with the Victron Energy 2-year worldwide warranty. Sealed (VRLA) Gel batteries: In a Gel battery, the electrolyte is immobilized as gel. Compared to AGM batteries, Gel batteries are more suitable for delivering low currents for extended periods and generally have a longer lifespan, both in float and cycling modes. VRLA technology: VRLA stands for Valve Regulated Lead Acid. This means the batteries are sealed. Gas will only escape through a safety valve if incorrect charging and/or damaged cells occur. VRLA batteries are maintenance-free throughout their entire lifespan. Low self-discharge. Due to the use of lead-calcium grids and high-purity materials, Victron VRLA batteries can easily handle long periods without recharging. Self-discharge is less than 2% per month at a temperature of 20°C. This discharge rate doubles with every 10°C increase in temperature. Victron VRLA batteries can therefore be stored for up to a year without recharging, provided this is done at a relatively low temperature. Exceptional discharge recovery. Victron VRLA batteries recover very well, even after deep and prolonged discharge. However, repeated deep and prolonged discharge has a negative impact on the lifespan of all lead-acid batteries. Victron batteries are no exception. Battery discharge characteristics: The nominal capacity of Victron Deep Cycle batteries refers to a discharge time of 20 hours (a discharge current of 0.05C). The nominal capacity of Victron Tubular Plate Long Life batteries refers to a discharge time of 10 hours. The effective capacity decreases as the discharge current increases. Charging current: The charging current of a VRLA battery should not exceed 0.2C (20A for a 100 Ah battery). The battery temperature will increase by more than 10°C if the charging current exceeds 0.2C, and temperature compensation is then necessary.
