Victron Skylla-IP65 24/35 (1+1) 120-240V
The Victron Skylla-IP65 24/35 battery charger (1+1) has 2 isolated outputs. The second output is limited to approximately 3A, has a slightly lower output voltage and is used to charge a starter battery. The steel epoxy-powder-coated housing is splash-proof and resistant to harsh conditions such as heat, moisture and salt air. The printed circuit boards are protected with acrylic lacquer for optimal corrosion resistance. The temperature sensors ensure that the power components always operate within certain limits, if necessary by automatically reducing the output current in extreme environmental conditions. LC display For condition monitoring and to easily adapt the charging algorithm to a specific battery and operating conditions. CAN bus interface (NMEA2000) For connection to a CAN bus network, a Skylla-i Control panel or to the digital display of the Color Control. Synchronized parallel operation Multiple chargers can be connected in parallel and synchronized using the CAN bus interface. This is achieved by connecting the chargers to each other with RJ45 UTP cables. The correct amount of charge for a lead-acid battery: variable absorption time If only light discharges occur, the absorption time is kept short to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically extended to fully charge the battery. Limit damage due to excessive gas formation: with the BatterySafe mode. If, to shorten the charging time, a high charging current in combination with a high absorption voltage is chosen, the Skylla-IP65 prevents damage due to excessive gas formation by automatically controlling the rate of increase of the voltage. limit when the gassing voltage has been reached. Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not used: with the storage mode. The storage mode is activated if the battery is not discharged for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float charge voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for 24 V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week the voltage is increased again to absorption level to 'recharge' the battery. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulphation, the main cause of premature battery failure. Extending the life of the battery: through temperature compensation. Each Skylla-IP65 is equipped with a battery temperature sensor. When the battery is connected, the charging voltage automatically decreases as the battery temperature rises. This feature is particularly recommended for sealed lead-acid batteries and/or when significant battery temperature fluctuations are expected. Battery voltage detection To compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance, the Skylla-IP65 is equipped with a voltage detection device, so that the battery always receives the correct charging voltage. Use as a power supply Due to the excellent control circuit, the Skylla-IP65 can be used as a power supply with perfectly stabilized output voltage when batteries or capacitors with a large buffer capacity are not available. Li-ion (LiFePO4) ready It is possible to implement simple on/off control of the charger by connecting a relay or an open collector opto-coupler output of a Li-ion BMS to the remote control port of the charger. On the other hand, complete control of the voltage and current is possible by connecting to the CAN bus port.
