Victron Skylla-IP65 24/35 (1+1) 120-240V
The Victron Skylla-IP65 24/35 (1+1) battery charger (1+1) has 2 isolated outputs. The second output is limited to approximately 3A, has a slightly lower output voltage and is used to top up a starter battery. The steel, epoxy-powder-coated housing is splash-proof and resistant to harsh conditions such as heat, moisture and salt air. The printed circuit boards are protected with acrylic lacquer for optimum corrosion resistance. Temperature sensors ensure that the power components always operate within defined limits, if necessary by automatically reducing the output current in extreme environmental conditions. LC display For status monitoring and to easily adapt the charging algorithm to a specific battery and operating conditions. CAN bus interface (NMEA2000) For connection to a CAN bus network, a Skylla-i Control panel or to the digital display of the Color Control. Synchronized parallel operation Multiple chargers can be connected in parallel and synchronized using the CAN bus interface. This is achieved by connecting the chargers to each other with RJ45 UTP cables. The right amount of charge for a lead-acid battery: variable absorption time. If only light discharges occur, the absorption time is kept short to prevent overcharging of the battery. After a deep discharge, the absorption time is automatically extended to fully charge the battery. Limiting damage from excessive gassing: with BatterySafe mode. If a high charging current in combination with a high absorption voltage is selected to shorten the charging time, the Skylla-IP65 prevents damage from excessive gassing by automatically limiting the voltage increase rate once the gassing voltage is reached. Less maintenance and aging when the battery is not in use: with storage mode. The storage mode is activated if the battery has not been discharged for 24 hours. In storage mode, the float charge voltage is reduced to 2.2 V/cell (26.4 V for a 24 V battery) to minimize gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week, the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to "recharge" the battery. This prevents electrolyte stratification and sulfation, the main cause of premature battery failure. Extending battery life: through temperature compensation. Each Skylla-IP65 is equipped with a battery temperature sensor. When the battery is connected, the charging voltage automatically decreases as the battery temperature rises. This feature is particularly recommended for sealed lead-acid batteries and/or if significant temperature fluctuations are expected. Battery voltage sensing. To compensate for voltage loss due to cable resistance, the Skylla-IP65 is equipped with a voltage sensing device, ensuring the battery always receives the correct charging voltage. Use as a power supply. Thanks to its excellent control circuit, the Skylla-IP65 can be used as a power supply with a perfectly stabilized output voltage if batteries or capacitors with a large buffer capacity are not available. Li-ion (LiFePO4) ready. Simple on/off control of the charger can be implemented by connecting a relay or the open-collector optocoupler output of a Li-ion BMS to the charger's remote control port. Alternatively, full voltage and current control is possible by connecting to the CAN bus port.
