The Victron Skylla-TG 24/50 GMDSS is a battery charger and power supply specifically designed for GMDSS applications. This Skylla charger includes additional equipment, such as a built-in battery controller, for performing the monitoring and alarm functions required for GMDSS. GMDSS is the Global Maritime Distress & Safety System developed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to improve maritime distress and safety communications. The Victron Skylla GMDSS charger is designed to provide all monitoring and alarm data. Both the battery and the GMDSS system are directly connected to the charger. Data and alarms can be displayed on a digital display (VE.Net GMDSS display, available separately). The charger is connected to the display via a standard 8-wire UTP cable. The charger has an input voltage range of 90 to 265 V AC.
