Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 (12/24V)
The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 12/24V is a solar charger for 12V or 24V systems (autoselect). The maximum nominal PV power output of the solar charger is 440W at a 12V system voltage, and 880W at a 24V system voltage. The maximum PV no-load voltage of this solar charger is 100V. The SmartSolar solar charge controllers have a programmable battery charge algorithm and standard integrated Bluetooth Smart for setting up the solar charger and monitoring solar yield. Bluetooth Smart integrated: no dongle required. The wireless solution for setting up, monitoring, and updating the controller via Apple or Android smartphones, tablets, or other devices. VE.Direct For a wired data connection to a Color Control panel, Venus GX, PC, or other device. Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Especially in cloudy conditions when light intensity is changing continuously, an ultra-fast MPPT controller can improve energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers. Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in case of variable shading In case of variable shading, the power-voltage curve can contain two or more maximum power points. Conventional MPPTs tend to use a local MPP, which may not be the optimal MPP. The innovative BlueSolar algorithm always maximizes energy harvest by using the optimal MPP. BatteryLife: intelligent battery management If a solar charge controller cannot fully recharge a battery within a single day, the result is often that the battery constantly fluctuates between 'partially charged' and 'fully discharged'. This state (lack of regular full charging) will irreparably damage a lead-acid battery within a few weeks or months. The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the battery’s state of charge and, if necessary, slightly increases the load disconnect level day by day (by disconnecting the load earlier) until the harvested solar energy is sufficient to charge the battery close to 100%. From that point on, the load disconnect level is modulated so that the battery is charged close to 100% approximately once per week. Programmable battery charge algorithm Every morning, as soon as the sun starts to shine, the charge controller starts a new charge cycle based on a three-step charging process: Bulk – Absorption – Float. The battery charge algorithm is programmable with a set of default settings or user-defined settings. Internal temperature sensor Compensates absorption and float charge voltages for temperature.
