Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/70-Tr (12/24/48V)
Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/70 12/24 (autoselect) /48V is a solar charger for 12V, 24V or 48V systems. The maximum nominal PV power that the solar charger outputs at a 12V system voltage is 1000W, at a 24V system voltage it is 2000V, and at a 48V system voltage it is 4000W. The maximum PV no-load voltage of this solar charger is 250V. The SmartSolar solar charge controllers have a programmable battery charge algorithm and standard built-in Bluetooth Smart to allow configuration of the solar charger and monitoring of solar yield. Bluetooth Smart built-in: no dongle required. The wireless solution to configure, monitor, and update the controller via Apple or Android smartphones, tablets, or other devices. VE.Direct For a wired data connection to a Color Control panel, Venus GX, PC, or other device. Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Especially in cloudy conditions when light intensity is changing continuously, an ultra-fast MPPT controller can improve energy harvest by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and by up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers. Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in case of variable shading In case of variable shading, the power-voltage curve can contain two or more maximum power points. Conventional MPPTs tend to use a local MPP, which may not be the optimal MPP. The innovative BlueSolar algorithm always maximizes energy harvest by using the optimal MPP. BatteryLife: intelligent battery management If a solar charge controller cannot fully recharge a battery within a single day, the result is often that the battery constantly fluctuates between 'partially charged' and 'fully discharged'. This state (lack of regular full charging) will irreparably damage a lead-acid battery within a few weeks or months. The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the battery’s state of charge and, if necessary, slightly increases the load disconnect level day by day (by disconnecting the load earlier) until the harvested solar energy is sufficient to charge the battery close to 100%. From that moment on, the load disconnect level is modulated so that the battery is charged close to 100% approximately once per week. Programmable battery charge algorithm Every morning, as soon as the sun comes out, the charge controller starts a new charge cycle based on a three-step charging process: Bulk – Absorption – Float. The battery charge algorithm is programmable with a set of default settings or user-defined settings. Internal temperature sensor Compensates absorption and float charge voltages for temperature. Remote on/off For connection to a VE.BUS BMS, for example. Programmable relay Can be programmed (via a smartphone, for example) to be activated by an alarm or other events. Optional: connectable LC display To do this, remove the rubber seal protecting the plug on the front of the controller and connect the display to it.
