Westland Surface Water Part 2 - Robust-MT Marine Technology BV We did it!
A few months ago we had several (2) consultations with the Westland Verstandig faction about Westland surface water and this also led to written questions in the municipal council. Initially without success.
However, it now appears they've been listened to, and the municipality of Westland, in collaboration with the Delfland Water Board, is preparing a cleanup operation . Great news!
Thanks to the Westland Verstandig faction and Peter Duijsens in particular.
Westland Surface Water - Robust-MT Marine Technology BV.
Robust-MT Marine Technology is so committed to the quality of local Westland surface water that this is even explicitly reflected in our company's mission
Integral electrification of (sailing) water sports with attention to the local ecosystem
We sincerely believe that the quality of our water is a serious problem, and we are convinced that we can completely eliminate some future pollution through our sustainable products for recreational boating and by cleaning up existing pollution. We do this not alone , but also in partnerships such as the Dutch Sustainable Boating Coalition .
Westland surface water - Written questions to the Executive Board
In recent months, we have repeatedly attempted to put the problem of (half-sunken) stray boats on the political agenda. To this end, we have sought collaboration with both local businesses (where there is sufficient interest to truly address this problem) and the local party Westland Verstandig .
Westland Verstandig has tackled this very actively and expeditiously by repeatedly submitting written questions to the council:
First of all, we would like to express our gratitude to the Westland Verstandig faction and Peter Duijsens in particular. As local businesses and residents of Westland, we felt heard and welcomed.
Westland surface water - Unfortunately!
Unfortunately, the board has decided not to take action here:
What a weak argument. It's our Westland surface water, it's our health and that of our children. Why isn't it the responsibility of the municipality of Westland? Our water is so dirty that no one should want to swim in it . Now we see half-sunken boats leaking gasoline and diesel everywhere, and the municipality simply looks the other way. How is it the responsibility of the Delfland Water Board?
Surface water quality is becoming the new nitrogen, and unfortunately, once again, we're not doing well. This presents an opportunity for improvement; local businesses are eager to help, even without compensation, and the municipality isn't even open to discussion.
Westland surface water - Perhaps the Delfland Water Board after all?
All of this is in stark contrast to the news that also appeared in the same newspaper today (although that article also offers perspective; apparently the Water Board does want to address this):
So, here's another appeal, this time to the Delfland Water Board. As local businesses committed to the quality of our Westland surface water, we're eager to contribute, and we're not alone. Who, from the local political and (semi-)governmental sectors, will take ownership, and how will we approach this together?
