MultiPlus 48/500/6-16 Applications The smallest 48V version: intended for light AC loads that must remain uninterrupted. Examples include telecom and metering cabinets, monitoring equipment, small emergency power supplies, and onboard networks where only electronics are connected to the inverter. Sine wave inverter, battery charger, and automatic transfer switch Pure sine wave inverter, advanced battery charger with adaptive charging technology, and a fast AC automatic transfer switch in a single elongated housing. The high starting power handles inrush currents from, for example, LED drivers and halogen lighting. Note: no PowerControl and PowerAssist According to Victron documentation, the 500 VA version is the only one in this series that does not feature PowerControl and PowerAssist. If shore power or the generator needs to be limited or supplemented, choose the 800 VA version or higher. Proven reliability The full-bridge plus toroidal transformer topology has proven itself for years in professional installations. The inverter is short-circuit protected and shielded against overheating due to overload or high ambient temperature. Continuous AC power: In the event of a mains outage or loss of shore or generator power, the inverter takes over the connected loads within 20 milliseconds, ensuring that computers and other electronics continue to operate. Parallel and three-phase: Up to six units in parallel for higher output power; three identical units can be configured for three-phase output. For the VE.Bus connection between the units, an RJ45 splitter (ASS030065510) is required at this power level. Adaptive battery charger: Four-step adaptive charging characteristic with absorption 57.6 V, trickle 55.2 V, and storage mode 52.8 V. The battery charging current is 6 A up to an ambient temperature of 25 °C. The battery temperature sensor is included; the 10mm² battery cables are not. The unit features an internal 30 A DC fuse. Search mode: With search mode enabled, no-load consumption drops by approximately 70%. The inverter switches off at no or very low load and briefly switches on every two seconds; if the output current exceeds the set level, it continues to run. Especially at this power level, this makes a noticeable difference in the daily discharge of the battery bank. Configuration and monitoring: Remote on/off, battery recharge voltage, inverter frequency, and search mode can be set using DIP switches; VEConfigure or the VE.Bus Smart dongle is used for the remaining settings. In combination with a GX device, the system can be monitored and operated locally and remotely via the VRM Portal – Victron Energy (https://vrm.victronenergy.com/landingpage) and the VRM app. The programmable relay switches by default upon alarm or pre-alarm, such as near-high temperature, excessive input ripple, or near-low battery voltage.
