The chargers are also protected against high ambient temperatures: temperature sensors ensure that the charging current is regulated down before damage from overheating can occur. Three-stage charging characteristic, with temperature compensation The absorption period begins after the charging current has dropped to 70% of the nominal current. After 4 hours of absorption charging, the Centaur switches to maintenance charging (float charge). The charging voltage is compensated by an internal temperature sensor (– 2 mV / ºC per cell) and can be set with DIP switches for open lead-acid batteries, gel batteries or AGM batteries.
