Victron Cyrix-ct battery combiner kit 12/24V-120A
This Battery Combiner Kit serves to add a 2nd or 3rd battery system to your car, boat, camper, or other vehicle. It uses the simplest and most advanced technology to keep all your batteries charged via the engine's electrical system, but isolates the starter battery when charging stops, so you never get stranded. The Battery Combiner Kit consists of: > Cyrix-CT 12/24-120A bidirectional voltage-sensitive relay > 6 m 10mm² red battery cable > 0.5 m 10mm² black battery cable > 0.2 m 1.5mm² battery cable with M8 crimp eyelet and 6.3 mm AMP plug > 2 M8 cable lugs with sleeve > 4 M6 cable lugs with sleeve > 4 150mm cable ties. The connected batteries or battery banks are automatically connected in parallel when one of the batteries reaches the preset voltage (indicating that the battery is being charged) and are disconnected when the voltage drops below the trickle charge level (indicating that one or more batteries are being discharged). A Cyrix battery isolator is an excellent alternative to a diode charge current distributor. The main feature is that voltage loss is practically nil, meaning the output voltage of alternators or battery chargers does not need to be increased. Battery voltage monitoring to prevent unwanted switching. Some battery isolators (also called voltage-controlled relays or isolation relays) disconnect a battery in the event of a short but high current. Sometimes a battery isolator also fails to connect a large but uncharged battery bank, because the DC voltage immediately drops below the disconnection value as soon as the batteries are connected. The software of the Cyrix-ct 12/24 does more than just connect and disconnect based on battery voltage and a fixed time delay. The Cyrix-ct 12/24 monitors the general trend (increase or decrease in voltage) and adjusts the most recently performed action only if the trend has changed during a specific time frame. The time delay depends on the voltage deviation from the trend. (for battery isolators with multiple coupling/disconnecting profiles, see the Cyrix-i 400) Long bolts to allow connection of more than one power cable Cyrix 12/24-120: 13 mm (M6) Cyrix 12/24-230: 16 mm (M8) Protection against overheating (e.g. due to prolonged overload) The Cyrix disconnects in the event of excessive contact temperature and restores the connection after it has cooled down again. LED status indication (only with Cyrix 12/24 230) LED on: connected LED lights 10 sec.: disconnected LED lights 2 sec.: connection is being made LED flashes every 2 sec.: connection is being broken LED flashes every 0.25 sec.: alarm (overtemperature; voltage > 16V; both batteries < 10V; one battery < 2V) (multiply by 2 for 24V) Automatic 12/24 V detection The Cyrix-ct 12/24 automatically detects the system voltage. No voltage loss The Cyrix battery isolator is an excellent alternative to diode charge current distributors. The main feature is that the voltage loss is practically nil, meaning the output voltage of alternators or battery chargers does not need to be increased. Priority for the starter battery It is common to connect the alternator directly to the starter battery. The accessory battery, and optionally a bow thruster battery and other batteries, are all connected to the starter battery using a Cyrix battery separator. When the Cyrix detects that the starter battery has reached the coupling voltage, it ensures that all batteries are charged in parallel. Bidirectional voltage measurement and power supply from both batteries. The Cyrix measures the voltage of both connected batteries. As a result, the Cyrix also switches the batteries in parallel if, for example, the accessory battery is being charged by a battery charger. The Cyrix-ct 12/24 features a dual power supply. This ensures that the Cyrix shuts if the voltage of one battery is too low to operate the Cyrix. To prevent unexpected operation during installation or when one battery is disconnected, the Cyrix-ct 12/24 does not shut if the voltage of one of the two battery connections is lower than 2V (for a 12V battery) or 4V (for a 24V battery). Parallel connection in case of emergency (Start Assist) The Cyrix can also be activated using a push button (the Cyrix remains active for 30 seconds) or a switch to manually connect batteries in parallel. This is particularly useful in an emergency if the starter battery is dead or defective. We would be happy to provide you with more information about this product. Please contact us.
