Victron Isolation Transformer 7000W 230V /32A Applications For larger yachts and commercial vessels with a heavy 230 V shore connection. With a 32 A throughput capacity, this model covers a complete onboard electrical system including air conditioning, water heater, cooking equipment, and a battery charger, while the vessel remains completely isolated from shore ground. Galvanic Isolation and Safety The transformer eliminates any electrical connection between shore power and the vessel. The shore power connects to the primary side, the vessel to the secondary. By connecting all metal parts to the secondary neutral, the RCD on board continues to function without galvanic current flowing via the shore ground to the propeller, propeller shaft, and hull. Voltage Conversion With a winding ratio of 1:1.05, the 230 V input is converted to a 240 V output. This 5% compensates for the voltage drop that is normal in harbors with long power cables. The device operates in 50 Hz and 60 Hz systems but does not convert the frequency. Soft start and temperature protection The inrush current limiter prevents the shore circuit breaker from tripping upon activation. The transformer is forced-cooled; the fan speed increases with the temperature, and the unit switches off in the event of overheating. Connection and grounding Input and output are connected to screw terminals (L, N, and PE), with a minimum cable cross-section of 6 mm². An M6 bolt is located under the housing for the ground connection to the ship. For a correctly functioning RCD at the output, the secondary neutral is connected to ground using the supplied bridge wire. When the ship is ashore, a second bridge wire connects the input ground to the output ground.
