DC Modular 2x M8 Double Clamp This insulated double clamp from the DC Modular series features two M8 terminal bolts on a base plate made of high-purity tinned copper. The clamp is intended for cable connections that require a fixed, covered location and can be daisy-chained to other DC Modular products using connection plates. Applications Not every connection belongs on a distribution rail. For extending a cable, daisy-chaining two components, or an intermediate point in the main distribution panel, this double clamp is the neat solution: insulated, covered, and with the option to connect a busbar later. * Extending or connecting battery cables * Intermediate point in a DC main distribution system * Expanding an existing DC Modular setup * Yachts, commercial vessels, construction equipment, and off-grid installations Construction and materials * Base plate made of high-purity tinned copper for low contact resistance * Bolts, washers, and nuts made of stainless steel * Fiber-reinforced plastic base, resistant to high temperatures and chemicals * Transparent cover with break-off sides for cable entry from any direction Smart terminal setup The terminal design allows two cable lugs to be mounted mirrored on the same bolt. The cover locks at the top, ensuring the connections remain accessible afterwards without removing the module. Mounting and torque Mount in this order: cable lugs, flat washer, spring washer, nut. Never place a washer between the busbar and cable lug, between two cable lugs on the same bolt, or between a cable lug and a terminal plate. Tightening torque 13 N·m for M8. Tighten the thumbscrews on the cap only hand-tight. Wiring Sequence For high currents, follow the top-down method: place the heaviest load as close as possible to the main supply, preferably on the same bolt, and the lighter loads on the bolts located further away.
