Why rent electric?
A rental boat that works for you, not the other way around
What is an electric rental boat? An electric rental boat is a boat with an electric motor and battery, built for intensive use by changing renters. It sails silently and without exhaust fumes, is easy to operate without a boating license, and requires much less maintenance than a boat with a combustion engine.
A rental boat takes a tougher turn than a private boat. Different skippers every day, bumps against the dock, children jumping on board, and a packed schedule during the high season. A boat sitting idle for repairs costs you revenue. That is why we build low-maintenance rental boats from HDPE and aluminium: materials that can take a beating and require no paint or antifouling. With an electric drive, oil, filters, and refueling are also eliminated.
- Robust and vandal-proof, built for changing tenants
- A full rental day of boating on one battery or multiple lightweight batteries
- Simple operation: switch on, throttle forward, and off you go!
- Quiet on the water, ideal in and around nature and holiday parks
The benefits for landlords
Why an electric rental boat?
For your guests, an electric boat is primarily quiet and relaxing. For you as a rental company, something else matters: how many days the boat can sail, what it costs per rental day, and how much time you spend on maintenance.
Low maintenance, even with intensive use
No engine oil, filters, or spark plugs. The HDPE or aluminum hull requires no paint or antifouling. Pressure wash and the boat is ready for the next renter.
Low cost per rental day
A fully charged battery for a small boat costs a few euro cents in electricity. No refueling, no fuel stock at the park, and no hassle with jerrycans.
Simple for every tenant
No boating license required, no choke or starter cord. The electric motor responds instantly to the throttle, so even inexperienced renters can moor smoothly.
Quiet in the park and nature
No engine noise over the water. Your guests on the jetty and in the chalets hardly notice that boats are sailing. This fits the tranquility they come for.
No emissions on or in the water
No exhaust fumes, no fuel smell, and no oil or gasoline ending up in the pond or lake. Good for swimmers, fishermen, and nature.
Ready for new rules
More and more municipalities and boating areas are banning fuel engines. In the municipality of Steenwijkerland, known for Giethoorn, rental boats are already required to run on electricity. With an electric fleet, you are prepared for this.
For every rental location
For whom do we build rental boats?
A campsite with a pond requires something different than a rental company on the Frisian lakes. That is why we tailor the boat, the battery, and the charging to your water, your guests, and your rental model.
Recreation and holiday parks
Rental boats and sloops for the holiday park or recreation park: an enhanced experience for your guests and an additional source of income. An electric boat for the holiday park is quiet, ensuring that peace and quiet are preserved within the park.
Campsites
An electric boat for the campsite is lightweight, safe, and can also be used on water without water sports facilities. Shallow draft and easy boarding and disembarking from the shore.
Rental companies & marinas
Sloops for rental companies or marinas: electric sloops for rental companies that need to last a full day. Comfortable for families and groups, and powerful enough for the high season.
Boat tour & groups
For cruises and group rentals, we are building an 8.5-meter electric tour boat with a bow thruster and a sailing time of 8 to 10 hours.

Which electric rental boat suits your location?
We build rental boats in three sizes, from a compact electric boat for the campsite to a tour boat for groups. We configure each boat based on your specific needs: engine power, battery capacity, and the charging solution at your location.

From first meeting to first tenant
This is how we configure your rental fleet
One boat or a complete fleet: we help you think about the boat, charging, and usage at your location.
1. Introduction & location
We discuss your water, your guests, the number of boats, and how long you rent them out per day. We also look at the jetty and the loading facilities.
2. Proposal & sea trial
You will receive a customized proposal including boat type, propulsion system, battery, and charging solution. Afterwards, you will take a test drive in Monster or Stellendam.
3. Construction & Furnishing
The boats are built in the Netherlands and finished in our workshop in Monster, in your colors if desired. We install the propulsion system and the complete electrical installation.
4. Delivery & service
We deliver the boats ready to sail and explain to your team how the boats operate, load, and are inspected daily. We are also available to assist you afterwards.
Insight into the investment
How much does an electric rental boat cost?
The price of an electric rental boat depends on the size, material, battery capacity, and options. Our Robbie 425 starts at €18,775. For the tour boat and the aluminium sloops, we will create a custom proposal tailored to the number of boats and your usage.
When choosing a rental boat, do not look solely at the purchase price, but especially at the cost per rental day. A cheaper boat that needs to be sanded, painted, and repaired every year is often the more expensive choice over ten years. With an electric boat made of HDPE or aluminum, fixed costs remain low: no fuel, no engine maintenance, and no painting.
- How many half-days do you rent out per season?
- What rental price suits your guests and location?
- How many boats do you need in the high season?
Based on your rental model, we calculate together with you what an electric fleet will yield.
Practical calculation example
One Robbie 425 for rent
A compact electric boat at a campsite or holiday park. The rental price, the number of half-days, and the electricity price below are assumptions for this example.
Purchase
€ 18,775 (excl.)
Rental price, assumption
€75 / half-day
Rental, acceptance
80 half-days
Current minimum
< €1 / battery
80 half-days x €75 = €6,000 revenue per season
Indicative payback period
2.5 seasons
€15,516 ÷ €6,000 per season
Calculation example, no guarantee of revenue or return. Costs for mooring, insurance, staff, and cleaning are not included. Electricity costs based on a battery of approx. 1.3 kWh and €0.30 per kWh.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about electric rental boats
How much does an electric rental boat cost?
Our Robbie 425, a compact electric boat for 6 to 7 people, starts at €18,775 (2026 pricing subject to change). For larger electric sloops and the tour boat, we will create a custom proposal depending on size, battery capacity, options, and the number of boats.
How long can an electric rental boat sail on a single charge?
The Robbie 425 sails for 4 to 6 hours on a single battery, the tour boat for 8 to 10 hours. For our sloops, we match the battery to a full rental day. Speed, load, and wind determine the actual sailing time.
Do renters need a boating license?
No. A boating license is only required for boats longer than 15 meters or motorboats that can go faster than 20 km/h. Our rental boats remain below that limit, so every adult renter is allowed to operate them.
How much maintenance does a low-maintenance rental boat require?
Not much. An electric motor has no oil, filters, or spark plugs, and a hull made of HDPE or aluminum does not need to be painted. A quick daily clean, charging the battery, and an annual check of the drive system and battery are usually sufficient.
How do we charge the boats at our park?
That depends on the boat and your location. You charge the portable battery of the Robbie 425 indoors, while the tour boat charges via a standard wall socket. For a fleet of sloops, we recommend shore power at the jetty so that the boats charge overnight.
Which electric boat is suitable for a campsite or holiday park?
For a campsite or small holiday park, the Robbie 425 is often a good choice: lightweight, shallow draft, and easy to get on and off, even on water without watersports facilities. For larger parks and groups, an aluminium sloop or the tour boat is a better fit.
Can the rental boats be in our house style?
Yes. HDPE boats are black or white and can be customized with colored stickers and cushions. Aluminum boats can be wrapped. This way, the boats match the look of your fleet.
Can we electrify our existing rental boats?
Often, yes. We also convert existing sloops and motorboats to electric. Read more on our page about converting a boat to electric.
Can we do a test sail first?
Yes. We have demo locations in Monster and Stellendam. Contact us to schedule a test drive.
Why Robust-MT for your rental boats?
We build the boat, supply the electric drive from our own range, and install everything in our own workshop in Monster. From shore power to propeller, you have a single point of contact, also for service and parts during the season.
