What began with a strategic discussion about local cooperation in the Westland has led to the development of a unique model line in the Dutch maritime market. In close collaboration with Kemeling Kunststoffen , Robust-MT Marine Technology BV has developed the Robust-425 , better known as “Robbie” . After intensive testing phases with the first prototype, the boat has successfully entered production. This 100% electric and maintenance-free HDPE sloop was entirely designed, finished, and tested locally. The vessel now serves as a permanent demo model during our open days at Havenstraat and attracts national attention at major maritime trade fairs and events.
Indestructible construction
The hull had to take a beating, be completely vandal-proof, and require no maintenance anywhere.

The boat had to be fully recyclable and produced from recycled HDPE.

Kemeling Kunststoffen 's innovative, robotic manufacturing process is perfectly suited for the precise production of this robust sloop. High-quality, solid 15mm thick HDPE sheet material was chosen. The boat was expertly finished in our own workshop in Monster with the following configuration:
The Hull
A self-draining HDPE hull measuring 4.25 meters by 1.60 meters with a weight of 300 kg. The construction is equipped with fixed benches, a watertight foredeck, a steering console, and a lockable engine compartment.
Drive and control
The sloop is equipped as standard with an ePropulsion Spirit 1.0 Evo motor (1 kW), coupled to a professional Robust-branded steering system. Operation is via an ergonomic side-mount throttle lever with an external, blue illuminated display.
Energy storage
The drive system uses the portable ePropulsion Spirit battery. This is neatly housed in the compartment, but can also easily be taken home or to the office in a backpack to charge there.
Finish
Robbie has been made fully ready to sail with a custom cushion set and features various expansion options such as integrated solar panels, a shore power system, or a matching PEGA tilting trailer.

In addition to the successful test voyages, the boat was in the local spotlight during the Street Fair of the Festival Week in Monster.
HISWA on the water
The boat had its official exhibition premiere at the Bataviahaven in Lelystad. As the smallest and most affordable electric sloop at the show, the model attracted a great deal of attention from the public.
SAIL Amsterdam
The sloop was deployed during the prestigious Sustainable Boating Day at SAIL Amsterdam, where it successfully sailed in the fleet on behalf of the Sustainable Boating Coalition.
The Robust-425 is an unqualified success. During extensive practical tests, the HDPE hull has proven to be extremely stable and maneuverable, with excellent acceleration and braking characteristics. Because the material is completely free of paint, lubricating oil, and antifouling, the boat is 100% environmentally friendly and maintenance-free.
