On board a boat or in a camper, the battery must be able to be disconnected from the system with a single action, even with starting currents of hundreds of amperes. This main switch, in the familiar red finish, connects one battery to one consumer circuit and, thanks to the ignition protection, may also be mounted in a petrol engine compartment. One battery, one consumer circuit. The switch has two positions: on and off. There is one battery input; combining battery banks or disconnecting the alternator field is not possible. This makes it suitable as a simple main switch in the positive lead of a single battery bank. Ample current reserve. The continuous load capacity is 300 A, with 500 A for 5 minutes and 900 A for 30 seconds for starting. The switching capacity under load is 25 A. The maximum voltage is 48 VDC, making the switch suitable for use in 24V and 48V installations as well. Ignition-protected and IP66. The switch is ignition-protected according to ISO 8846 and SAE J1171, making it safe on board gasoline-powered boats. The housing is IP66 and further certified according to UL 1107 and UL 1500, with CE marking. Connecting and mounting The connection bolts are 3/8"-16 (M10) made of tinned copper, to be tightened to 13.56 Nm. The cable passage is suitable for 4/0 AWG (120 mm²). The housing allows mounting flush, on a front panel, or behind a panel; the mounting holes are suitable for size #10 screws. An insulating cover with snap-on parts protects the contacts on the rear.
