Description

ETI fuse NH1 gBat 125A/80Vdc

ETI fuse NH1 gBat 125A/80Vdc

Battery banks, energy storage systems, and UPS installations require protection designed for direct current with a high short-circuit capacity. This fuse safely trips at 80 Vdc up to 50 kA and protects cables, cells, and equipment against short circuits. gBat characteristic for battery systems The gBat characteristic was developed for battery circuits: full-range protection against both overload and short circuits, with a melting characteristic matched to the high short-circuit current and the long time constant of battery banks. The fuse has been tested at a time constant L/R of 10 ms. Protection up to 50 kA direct current The breaking capacity is 50 kA DC at 80 Vdc. This makes the fuse suitable for 12, 24, and 48 Vdc systems with lithium or lead-acid batteries, where the short-circuit current of the battery bank is far above the range of standard automotive fuses. * Nominal current 125 A * Nominal voltage 80 Vdc * Fuse integral (I²t pre-arc) 14,750 A²s * Operation integral (I²t total) 16,963 A²s Knife cartridge NH1C Version as NH knife cartridge in size NH1C, to be mounted in an NH1 fuse holder or fuse load disconnect switch. The power loss is 14.8 W at nominal current and 6.6 W at 0.7 × In; take this into account regarding heat dissipation in enclosed cabinets. Status indication on the top The fuse has an indicator on the top that shows whether the fuse has blown. During inspection, the status is therefore visible without removing the cartridge from the holder. Execution according to IEC 60269. The fuse complies with IEC 60269-2 and is part of the ETI gBat series for direct current applications, with frame sizes NH00, NH1 and NH3 and voltage classes from 80 to 700 Vdc. Specifications Nominal current 125 A Nominal voltage 80 Vdc Characteristic gBat Body size NH1C blade pattern Breaking capacity 50 kA DC Time constant L/R 10 ms Power loss at In 14.8 W Power loss at 0.7 × In 6.6 W Fuse integral I²t (arc protection) 14,750 A²s Operating integral I²t 16,963 A²s Status indication Top indicator Standard IEC 60269-2 Weight 233 g Brand ETI EAN 3838895758556 NH00, NH1 and NH3: o These are NH (Neozed Hochleistungs) fuse sizes that differ in dimensions and current capacity. NH fuses are often used in high-power industrial installations due to their robustness and ability to handle high currents. • NH00: This is the smallest size in the NH series. It is suitable for applications with lower currents compared to NH1 and NH3. • NH1: This is a medium size and is used for heavier industrial applications. • NH3: This is the largest and heaviest version, suitable for the highest currents and voltages in demanding applications. gBat: • gBat stands for "general purpose Battery fuse". This type of fuse is specifically designed to protect battery systems and direct current (DC) installations. They offer full protection for battery cells against both overloads and short circuits in DC circuits. • gBat fuses are designed to meet the specific requirements of energy storage systems, such as rapid tripping in case of overload and protection against high currents in battery systems. XXA: • This is the nominal current rating of the fuse, meaning that this fuse is suitable for conducting up to XX Amperes continuously. If the current exceeds XXA, the fuse will blow to protect the circuit. 700V max DC: • This is the maximum direct current (DC) voltage for which the fuse is designed, in this case 700 volts. The fuse is therefore suitable for applications where the voltage can rise to 700V DC, such as in battery storage systems or DC networks. Differences between NH00, NH1, and NH3: NH00: • Smallest NH fuse size. • Is often used for lower current ratings (up to approximately 100A) and smaller industrial applications. NH1: • Larger size than NH00 and suitable for applications with higher currents (up to approximately 250A). Typically used in medium-sized industrial installations. NH3: • Largest NH fuse size. • Suitable for the heaviest applications, with current capacities of up to 630A or more. Is widely used in large industrial installations and power plants. Areas of application: These fuses are specifically designed to protect direct current (DC) installations in battery systems or energy storage systems, where high DC voltages and currents are present. The gBat rating indicates that they are ideal for battery and energy storage applications, with protection against both overloads and short circuits. They are widely used in: • Battery protection: Protection of individual battery cells or entire battery banks. • UPS systems: In emergency power supplies to protect critical installations. • Solar panel systems and other DC energy systems.
