MG SmartLink PLC Box Multi BMS Modbus TCP controller

MG SmartLink PLC Box Multi BMS The SmartLink PLC Box Multi BMS from MG Energy Systems is an industrial communication and control interface that combines up to six MG Masters — LV or HV — into a single virtual battery pack. The combined battery data is made available via Modbus TCP over Ethernet and via CAN bus according to NMEA 2000/VE.Can, so that external systems no longer need to communicate with multiple BMSs. The entire unit is housed in a cabinet configuration with six internal emergency stop relays. Applications In industrial and maritime projects, energy storage must behave as a single system, even when containing six BMSs — and the configuration must demonstrably meet Classification requirements. This PLC Box brings both together: a single data stream to the controller and hardware intended for DNV- and Lloyds-approved projects. Direct control is included, so a separate EMS or GX layer is not required. * SCADA and PLC environments with Siemens, WAGO, Schneider, or Beckhoff * Industrial and building-related energy systems * Maritime projects with classification by DNV or Lloyd's * Off-grid installations with industrial load control * Complex MG Master configurations requiring signaling or relays Combining Battery Data The SmartLink collects and combines all battery and communication data from the MG system. Consequently, parallel-connected systems are displayed as a single battery pack. External equipment therefore does not need to read multiple BMSs; the PLC Box is the single point of contact. System Control In addition to data reading, the PLC Box controls the connected MG Masters. It detects the system status, including warnings and faults, and provides the control to start, stop, and reset the entire battery system. If an MG Master closes its main contactor, the SmartLink signals this; if the remaining capacity is too low, it switches off the system for protection. Connection with Third Parties The standard protocol for external equipment is Modbus TCP; additionally, CAN bus based on NMEA 2000 is available. The SmartLink supports a list of common battery chargers and electric drives, enabling direct control without an intermediate EMS or PMS. Difference compared to the single BMS version * This version supports up to six MG Masters; the Single BMS version (MG3000307) supports one * Six internal emergency stop relays versus one emergency stop output * An external power supply is required for this version; With the Single BMS, the master power supply runs through the box.
