The breathable membrane enables moisture measurement while the housing remains resistant to temporarily wet conditions. Breathable membrane A completely sealed sensor cannot measure humidity. This membrane allows water vapor to pass through but keeps liquid water out, so that humidity measurement works without the electronics getting wet.
