Victron SmartShunt IP65 300 A The SmartShunt IP65 is a complete battery monitor without a display: the phone is the screen. All electronics are encapsulated on the shunt itself, making the entire unit IP65 rated and eliminating the need for cabling to a panel. You can read charge status, voltage, current, consumed ampere-hours, and remaining runtime via Bluetooth and the VictronConnect app. This version is suitable for up to 300 A. Applications Not every installation has a place for a panel display — and not every installation is dry. This version combines both: no cutout, no cable to the dashboard, and a molded housing that is resistant to moisture and dust. For 12 V systems with an inverter of up to approximately 3 kVA, 300 A is usually more than sufficient. * Motorhomes and commercial vehicles with a damp or dusty installation location * Yachts and open boats, including in the engine compartment * Retrofit in existing installations where there is no space for a display * Installations where the user is already working with the VictronConnect app What you read out * Battery voltage, current, and power * Ampere-hours consumed, charge status, and remaining runtime * History: deepest discharge, average discharge, number of cycles, highest and lowest voltage * Trends over the stored measurement period Auxiliary input The integrated auxiliary cable can be configured for one of three functions: voltage of a second battery (6.5 – 70 VDC), center point voltage of a battery bank, or temperature via the optional sensor ASS000100000. With center point monitoring, the monitor calculates the percentage deviation and triggers an alarm as soon as it exceeds a set limit. Connection and integration In addition to Bluetooth, there is a VE.Direct port for pairing with a GX device, after which the data is available locally and via the VRM portal. Via VE.Smart networking, the monitor wirelessly shares battery voltage and current with Victron charge controllers and some battery chargers. The device can also be configured as a DC meter for a separate DC circuit. Differences compared to a BMV-712 Smart * No visual or audible alarm on the device itself; alarms are received via the app or the GX device * No programmable relay * Waterproof design, IP65 * The electronics are fixed to the shunt instead of in a separate display unit Installation The shunt is the only component that should be connected to the negative terminal of the battery; all consumers and chargers connect to the LOAD MINUS side. In this version, the connection bolts are M8 and the maximum tightening torque is 10 Nm — lower than with the heavier versions, so please take this into account during installation. Included are a 1.5 m fused power cable, a 1.5 m auxiliary cable, and a 1.5 m VE.Direct cable. Bluetooth range The shunt and the power cables affect the Bluetooth range; In practice, about 10 to 15 meters remains. If the monitor is in a metal cabinet or close to a steel hull, this may be insufficient. In that case, add a VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle (ASS030536011) and disable Bluetooth in the SmartShunt.
