CANUSB Applications Indispensable in the service kit: connect a laptop directly to the VE.Can network of, for example, a Skylla-i, Lynx Shunt VE.Can, or BlueSolar MPPT 150/70 and perform firmware updates and configuration work right on-site. VE.Can to USB Connects any Victron product with a VE.Can connector (RJ45) to a USB port on a PC or laptop. Intended exclusively for VE.Can, not for VE.Bus or VE.Net. Firmware updates and configuration In combination with VE Power Setup, you update the firmware of connected VE.Can devices. The CANUSB driver and VE Power Setup can be downloaded from the Victron Energy software page (https://www.victronenergy.com/support-and-downloads/software/). Included terminators Two VE.Can RJ45 terminators are included. A VE.Can network must be terminated at both ends. Status indication * Continuously on: connected to the operating system driver * Slowly blinking: a software application is connected to the adapter * Rapidly blinking: data is being transmitted via the connected CAN bus Powering the VE.Can network The adapter does not power the VE.Can network itself. At least one connected product must be present to power the network, for example a Skylla-i, a BlueSolar Charger MPPT 150/70, or a Lynx Shunt VE.Can. Devices such as the Skylla-i Control GX, Ion Control, and Lynx Ion do not power the network. Installation * Install the driver first, and only then connect the adapter to the computer * Installation is performed with administrator privileges; after that, limited user rights suffice * System requirements: Windows 10/8.1/7 (32/64-bit) * Do not use a USB extension cable: this does not comply with the USB specification and may lead to interference Connecting devices without a VE.Can port The BMV to NMEA2000 and VE.Bus to NMEA2000 interfaces do not have a VE.Can socket (RJ45).
