DC Distribution Busbar 250A 4x M8 including ABS cover Victron Busbar 250 A with 4 terminals This distribution busbar from Victron Energy features four heavy-duty bolt connections on a single continuous strip of tinned copper. You use it as a central distribution point for either the positive or negative of a DC installation: one supply from the battery, and three outgoing connections to consumers, chargers, or inverters. The busbar is suitable for 250 A at a maximum of 70 VDC and comes with a removable protective cover. Applications As soon as an inverter of any significant size is included in the system, a 150 A busbar reaches its limit. This version handles 250 A on a strip of 5 x 24 mm tinned copper, with 8 mm bolts that accommodate substantial cable lugs. One distribution point, four heavy-duty cables, no stacked lugs on a battery terminal. * Yachts and commercial vessels with an inverter or bow thruster * Off-grid and backup installations up to 250 A * Central positive or negative point behind a main fuse * Commercial vehicles and work equipment with heavy DC consumers Heavy-duty connections The four bolts have a diameter of 8 mm (5/16 inch) and are 17 mm high, more than sufficient for crimp terminals with large cable cross-sections. The recommended tightening torque is 13 N·m: overtightening generates heat at high currents, while overtightening damages the bolt and the base. Material and construction * Rail strip made of tinned copper, 5 x 24 mm — the tin layer keeps contact resistance low * Bolts made of stainless steel, suitable for marine and humid environments * Nuts made of tinned copper * Base made of ABS, fire class UL 94 V-0 * Cap made of ABS, fire class UL 94 V-2 Selection guide If you require more connection points, the version with six connections is the logical next step. If the current remains below 150 A, a busbar from the 150 A series is sufficient and the installation is more compact. If the current exceeds 250 A, consider the 600 A versions or the Lynx distribution system.
