Alternator charging under control The Smart BMS 12/200 limits the alternator's charging current to a value that the battery bank can safely handle. This protects both the batteries and the alternator itself, which would otherwise run at full load for extended periods with a lithium battery bank. Transmission of battery alarm The lithium battery communicates with the VE.Bus BMS; via this cable, the VE.Bus BMS transmits the signal to the BMS 12/200. If an alarm occurs, for example, a cell out of range or excessive temperature, the charging process from the alternator stops immediately.
