Applications For any installation where multiple VE.Can devices are connected together: a GX device with a Lynx Shunt VE.Can, a Lynx Smart BMS, or a CAN bus battery from another brand. Without termination, the bus operates unreliably. Why termination is necessary A CAN bus must be terminated at both ends with 120 Ω. If this termination is missing, the signal bounces back through the cable and disrupts communication. The consequence is difficult to trace: devices that occasionally disappear from the list, dropped readings, or a system that behaves unpredictably. Placement * One terminator in the free VE.Can port of the first device in the chain * One in the free port of the last device * Never more than two terminators in the same network * No tools or configuration required Only for VE.Can VE.Bus, the connection between, for example, MultiPlus and Quattro inverters, works with standard RJ45 patch cables and does not require termination resistors.
