The diodes keep both battery banks completely separated during discharge, ensuring the starter battery always remains ready to start. Two battery banks from one alternator This charge current distributor distributes the charging current from one alternator across two battery banks without interconnecting them. During discharge, the battery banks remain separated by the diodes: a draining service battery does not drag the starter battery down with it.
