Victron Battery Management System VE.Bus 2 Victron Battery Management System VE.Bus 2 Battery management system for Victron Lithium Battery Smart batteries of 12.8 V and 25.6 V, intended for systems with a Victron inverter or inverter/charger with VE.Bus communication. The BMS monitors each cell for over- and undervoltage and for excessive or low temperature, and switches off inversion and charging via the VE.Bus. Compared to the first VE.Bus BMS, this version features remote on/off terminals, auxiliary power for a GX device, and control of solar chargers via a GX device. Applications * Yachts and workboats with MultiPlus, MultiPlus-II, or Quattro * Motorhomes, expedition vehicles, and mobile work units * Off-grid and backup installations with a Smart lithium bank * Systems with a GX device that must remain accessible even after shutdown * Installations where the inverter/charger is operated from multiple locations Which batteries This BMS works with Victron Lithium Battery Smart batteries of 12.8 V and 25.6 V with M8 round connectors. It is not compatible with the newer Lithium NG batteries; these require a BMS from the NG series. Therefore, when replacing or expanding, always check which battery generation is in the system. What the BMS does during a cell alarm * Pre-alarm for impending low cell voltage, allowing time to intervene * In case of low cell voltage: switch off inverters via the VE.Bus and other loads via the "Disconnect Load" terminal * In case of high cell voltage or excessively high or low cell temperature: switch off charging via the VE.Bus and other chargers via the "Disconnect Charger" terminal Difference compared to the first VE.Bus BMS * External on/off terminals * VE.Direct and VE.Can solar chargers can be switched off via a GX device * The VE.Bus inverter/charger can be controlled from multiple devices: Digital Multi Control, VE.Bus Smart dongle, and/or a GX device * Terminals for auxiliary power input and output, allowing a GX device to continue running when the system is switched off * The first VE.Bus BMS remains the logical choice in systems without a GX device Outputs and load capacity * Disconnect Load: normally high (output voltage approximately supply voltage minus 1 V), floating on shutdown; maximum 1 A * Disconnect charger: normally high, floating on shutdown; maximum 10 mA — therefore only suitable for a remote input, not for a relay coil * Pre-alarm: maximum 1 A, not protected against short circuit * GX power output and auxiliary power input: 1 A each Consumption and power supply * Input voltage range 9 to 70 V DC, suitable for 12 V, 24 V and 48 V systems * Self-consumption 10 mA in normal operation, excluding the current for disconnecting the load * 2 mA at low cell voltage * 1.5 mA when the BMS is switched off via the remote on/off terminal Can be ordered directly * Victron lithium battery 12.8V/100Ah Smart (https://shop.top.systems/accu-s/lithium/victron-lithium-accu-12-8v-100ah-smart.html) — BAT512110610.
