Victron Battery Management System VE.Bus 2 Victron Battery Management System VE.Bus 2 Applications For lithium installations on yachts, motorhomes, and off-grid systems where a MultiPlus or Quattro forms the core. The BMS communicates directly with the inverter-charger via VE.Bus and switches off loads and charge sources before the battery sustains damage. Control via VE.Bus The connection with the inverter-charger runs over VE.Bus, not via an external relay. As a result, the system can regulate charging down and switch off the inverter in an orderly manner instead of abruptly cutting off the power supply. Three outputs * Load shutdown, normally high, output voltage approx. supply voltage minus 1 V, source current up to 1 A * Charge shutdown, normally high, source current up to 10 mA * Pre-alarm, up to 1 A, not short-circuit proof Pre-alarm The pre-alarm warns well before shutdown, allowing the user to intervene. This prevents an installation from failing without warning due to low cell voltage.
