Victron battery monitor BMV-700

Victron Battery Monitor BMV-700 Victron BMV-700 Battery Monitor The BMV-700 is a high-precision battery monitor from Victron Energy. The device measures battery voltage and current and calculates the state of charge, consumed ampere-hours, and remaining runtime from this. Historical data is also tracked: deepest discharge, average discharge, and the number of charge and discharge cycles. All values can be read on the display using four control buttons. Applications Battery voltage alone says little about what is left in the battery — especially under load. This monitor actually counts the ampere-hours in and out, so that the user sees a reliable percentage *and* the remaining runtime instead of a guess. This prevents deep discharge, and thus the replacement of an entire battery bank. * Yachts and commercial vessels with a house battery bank * Motorhomes and commercial vehicles * Off-grid and backup installations * Any installation where the user needs to be able to read the battery status What it displays * Battery voltage and current * Power in watts * Ampere-hours consumed * Charge status in percentages * Remaining runtime * History: deepest discharge, average discharge, number of cycles, total charged and discharged kWh Connection and expansion The monitor can be connected to a GX device via the VE.Direct port, after which the battery data is available locally and via the VRM portal. With the optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or the VE.Direct USB interface, the VictronConnect app can be used for reading and configuration. The monitor can participate in VE.Smart networking. Programmable relay The built-in relay (60 V / 1 A, normally open, reversible) can switch on low charge status, low voltage, or high voltage. This allows, for example, a generator to be started or a non-essential load to be switched off before the battery discharges too much. Settings Battery capacity, charging voltage, discharge limit, tail current, Peukert exponent, and charging efficiency are adjustable so that the calculation matches the battery type used. For lithium, Victron recommends a charging efficiency of 99% and a Peukert exponent of 1.05. Alarms for low charge state and under- or overvoltage can be set separately, including a buzzer. Mounting The display is mounted flush with a panel; both a round and a square cover bezel are included. If panel mounting is not possible, a separate wall housing is available. The shunt is the only component to be connected to the negative terminal of the battery; all consumers and chargers connect to the other side.
