Victron Battery Monitor BMV-700H Victron BMV-700H Battery Monitor The BMV-700H is the high-voltage version of the BMV battery monitor from Victron Energy, intended for systems with a battery voltage of 60 to 385 VDC. The device measures battery voltage and current and calculates the state of charge, consumed ampere-hours, and remaining runtime from this. Due to the high voltage, the included 500 A / 50 mV shunt is housed in a separate enclosure. Applications The standard BMV series ends above 95 V — and it is precisely there that accurate battery monitoring becomes important, as a package of this size represents a substantial investment. This version measures up to 385 VDC without additional components, with the same measurement accuracy and operation as the rest of the series. The shunt is safely housed in its own enclosure. * Electric drive and marine propulsion * Large off-grid packs of 96 V, 144 V, or higher * Industrial DC systems and traction packs * Conversion projects with a high-voltage battery pack What it displays * Battery voltage, current, and power * Ampere-hours consumed, charge status, and remaining runtime * History: deepest discharge, average discharge, number of cycles, total charged and discharged kWh The voltage readout resolution is ± 0.01 V up to 100 V and ± 0.1 V above that. With the included shunt, the current range is from -500 to +500 A. Important: only with grounded negative The battery monitor is not galvanically isolated from the shunt. The device is therefore only suitable for systems with a grounded negative terminal. Take this into account in the design before deploying the device in a high-voltage installation. Alternative shunts The monitor operates with the included 500 A / 50 mV shunt but can be configured for non-standard shunts up to 10,000 A. This ensures the same monitor remains usable at currents higher than the standard shunt can handle. Connection and expansion The monitor can be connected to a GX device via the VE.Direct port, after which the data is available locally and via the VRM portal. An optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or VE.Direct USB interface is required to use the VictronConnect app; Bluetooth is not built into this model. Those who do want this feature should choose the BMV-710H Smart. Programmable relay The relay (60 V / 1 A, normally open, reversible) switches based on low charge state, low voltage, or high voltage. This allows, for example, a charger to be started or a load to be switched off before the pack discharges too much. Alarms can be set individually, including a buzzer. Mounting The display unit is mounted flush with a panel; Included are a round display unit, a square cover bezel, and a screw ring. The shunt belongs in its housing as the only component connected to the negative terminal of the battery pack; all consumers and chargers connect to the other side.
