The 7-segment display shows the selected setting. A special setting for lithium-ion batteries In this mode, the BatteryProtect can be controlled by the VE.Bus BMS. Note: the BatteryProtect can also be used as a charge interrupter between a battery charger and a Li-ion battery. See the connection diagram in the manual. Super low power consumption This is important in the case of lithium-ion batteries, especially after a shutdown due to low voltage. Overvoltage protection To prevent damage to sensitive loads due to overvoltage, the load is disconnected as soon as the DC voltage exceeds 16V or 32V. Ignition protected. No relays, but MOSFET switches, and therefore no sparks. Delayed alarm. The alarm is activated if the battery voltage drops below the preset disconnect level for more than 12 seconds. Therefore, starting the engine does not trigger the alarm. The alarm output is a short-circuit open-collector output connected to the negative (minus) rail, max. current 50mA. The alarm output is generally used to activate the buzzer, an LED, or a relay. Delayed load disconnection and delayed reconnection. The load is disconnected 90 seconds after the alarm is activated. If the battery voltage rises again to the coupling threshold within this timeframe (for example, after the engine has been started), the load is not disconnected.
