Victron BlueSolar MPPT 150/45 (12/24/48V) Victron BlueSolar MPPT 150/45 12/24/48V is a solar charger for 12V, 24V, 36V, or 48V systems (12/24/48V auto-select). The maximum nominal PV power passed through by the solar charger at a 12V system voltage is 650W; at a 24V system voltage, it is 1300W; at a 36V system voltage, it is 1950W; and at a 48V system voltage, it is 2600W. The maximum PV open-circuit voltage of this solar charger is 150V. The BlueSolar solar charge controllers feature a programmable battery charging algorithm. To configure the solar charger, a Victron VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle or a Victron VE.Direct to USB interface cable is required. VE.Direct For a wired data connection to a Color Control panel, Venus GX, PC, or other devices. Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Especially when it is cloudy and light intensity is constantly changing, an ultra-fast MPPT controller improves energy yield by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers. Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in the event of varying shading In the event of varying shading, the power-voltage curve may contain two or more maximum power points. Conventional MPPTs usually utilize local MPP, which may not be the optimal MPP. The innovative BlueSolar algorithm always maximizes energy yield by utilizing the optimal MPP. BatteryLife: intelligent battery management If a solar charge controller cannot fully recharge the battery in one day, the result is often that the battery constantly fluctuates between 'partially charged' and 'fully discharged'. Due to this condition (no regular full charge), a lead-acid battery becomes irreparably damaged within a few weeks or months. The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the battery's charge status and, if necessary, slightly increases the load disconnection level day by day (by disconnecting the load earlier) until the harvested solar energy is sufficient to charge the battery to nearly 100%. From that moment on, the load disconnection level is modulated so that the battery is charged to nearly 100% approximately once a week. Programmable battery charging algorithm: Every morning, as soon as the sun starts shining, the charge controller begins a new charging cycle based on a three-step charging process: Bulk – Absorption – Float. The battery charging algorithm is programmable with a set of default settings or user-defined settings. Internal temperature sensor: Compensates absorption and float charging voltages for temperature. Remote on/off: For example, for connection to a VE.BUS BMS. Programmable relay: Can be programmed (e.g., via a smartphone) to be activated by an alarm or other events. Optional: connectable LC display.
