Victron Gel battery 12V/110Ah

Victron Gel Battery 12V/110Ah The Victron 12V/110Ah GEL battery is a sealed battery with a capacity of 110Ah based on VRLA technology. A GEL battery is particularly suitable for slow discharge, for system voltage consumers, on-board equipment, and LED lighting. The battery terminals are made of copper with holes for M6 bolts to ensure good contact. Crimp terminals can be mounted directly onto the battery, and battery terminals are not required. The batteries comply with both European CE and American UL specifications in fire-resistant ABS housings and come with Victron Energy's worldwide 2-year warranty. Sealed (VRLA) Gel Batteries In a Gel battery, the electrolyte is immobilized as a gel. Compared to AGM batteries, Gel batteries are more suitable for delivering low current for extended periods, and this battery type generally has a longer service life, both in 'float' and 'cycling' use. VRLA Technology VRLA stands for Valve Regulated Lead Acid. This means that the batteries are sealed. Gas will only escape through a safety valve as a result of incorrect charging and/or defective cells. VRLA batteries are maintenance-free throughout their entire lifespan. Low Self-Discharge Due to the use of lead-calcium grids and very pure materials, Victron VRLA batteries can effortlessly withstand long periods without charging. The self-discharge is less than 2% per month at a temperature of 20°C. This discharge rate doubles with every 10°C increase in temperature. Consequently, Victron VRLA batteries can be stored for up to a year without needing to be recharged, provided this is done at a relatively low temperature. Exceptional Discharge Recovery Victron VRLA batteries recover very well, even after deep and prolonged discharges. Nevertheless, repeated deep and prolonged discharging has a negative impact on the lifespan of all lead-acid batteries. Victron batteries are no exception to this. Battery Discharge Characteristics The nominal capacity of Victron 'Deep Cycle' batteries refers to a discharge of 20 hours (a discharge current of 0.05C). The nominal capacity of Victron Tubular Plate Long Life batteries refers to a discharge of 10 hours. The effective capacity decreases as the discharge current increases. Charging Current The charging current of a VRLA battery must not exceed 0.2C (20A for a 100 Ah battery). The temperature of a battery will increase by more than 10°C if the charging current exceeds 0.2C, at which point temperature compensation is necessary.
