Victron GlobalLink 530 The GlobalLink 530 connects individual Victron devices or a small installation directly to the VRM Portal – Victron Energy (https://www.victronenergy.com/panel-systems-remote-monitoring/vrm) via LTE Cat 1 (4G), with 2G fallback. No router, no Wi-Fi, and no GX device needed: the module contains a pre-installed 1nce data SIM with five years of connectivity included and works straight out of the box. Two VE.Direct ports, Bluetooth for smart products and RuuviTag sensors, two digital inputs, and a remotely switchable relay make the module a compact communication center for systems where a full GX platform is not necessary or feasible. Applications Your customer wants to know what the system is doing, even when no one is on-site. That is exactly where the benefit lies: fewer trips, faster diagnostics, and a fault you see before the phone rings. LTE-TDD, LTE-FDD, GSM, GPRS, and EDGE are supported, resulting in wider coverage than with an LTE-M-only solution. Cloud updates are sent every 15 minutes; average data usage is between 1 and 2 MB per week. LTE Cat 1 supports handover and roaming, so the module remains connected even in a moving vehicle. Check in advance whether there is LTE Cat 1 coverage in the country of destination. Two VE.Direct ports You can connect up to two devices to the two galvanically isolated VE.Direct ports, for example a BMV or SmartShunt and a SmartSolar MPPT. The relevant values per device type are sent to the VRM every 15 minutes. * MPPT charge controller: status, battery voltage, battery current, load current, solar yield, error code * BMV / SmartShunt: battery voltage, auxiliary voltage, battery current, load current, charge state, alarm reason * Inverter RS and Multi RS: status, battery voltage, battery current, AC output voltage and current, error code * Smart IP43 charger and Orion XS: status, mode, voltages, currents, error code The Peak Power Pack does have a VE.Direct port, but is not supported. Bluetooth: smart products and RuuviTag. Via Instant Readout, you can wirelessly connect up to ten additional Victron smart products to the module, including SmartSolar, SmartShunt, Smart Battery Sense, Orion-Tr Smart, Smart BatteryProtect, Lynx Smart BMS, Lithium Battery Smart, and the VE.Bus Smart dongle. RuuviTag and RuuviTag Pro sensors are also supported; temperature, humidity, and air pressure are immediately stored in the VRM. First, enable Instant Readout on the smart products via VictronConnect. Devices not listed in the compatibility list are not supported, even if they have Bluetooth. Digital inputs and relays * Two digital inputs, also serving as a pulse counter (rising edge, maximum 1000 Hz) * Non-isolated, 3.3V level, 5 V resistant, internal 10 kΩ pull-up to 3.3V * Recommended wiring: potential-free relay or open-collector/optocoupler output * One relay NO/NC, DC up to 30 VDC at 2 A, AC 0.5 A at 125 VAC, switchable from VRM The inputs can trigger an alarm message in VRM and send an email to selected users. Please note the 15-minute transmission interval: the module is not suitable for applications requiring a virtually real-time alarm. Antenna and reception The module features an internal antenna and an SMA connector for an optional external antenna. A switch on the top determines which antenna is active. Never set this switch to external without a connected antenna; this can cause permanent damage to the device. The module itself is not suitable for outdoor installation. If it is located in a metal cabinet, a technical room, or a bus, an external outdoor antenna moves the receiving point outside. You can read the signal strength in VRM. SIM card and custom SIM The module contains a locked nano-SIM that only works in combination with this specific device. If you want to use your own SIM, your provider must support LTE-TDD, LTE-FDD, GSM, GPRS, and EDGE on GSM 900/1800 MHz and LTE-FDD B1/B3/B5/B7/B8/B20. You then set the PIN and APN via VictronConnect. Configuration and firmware With a smartphone or tablet and the VictronConnect app, you can read the status live: SIM status, mobile connection, selected antenna, signal strength, operator, the status of both VE.Direct ports, the number of paired Bluetooth devices, and the status of both digital inputs. You can assign custom names to the ports, inputs, and connected smart products. Firmware is automatically updated via the mobile connection. The update channel can be set to official release, beta, or disabled. Manual updating is not possible. Not a replacement for, but an alternative to a GX device. The module is used instead of a GX device, not alongside it: pairing with a Cerbo GX or other GX device is not possible. If you wish to provide a GX device with a mobile connection, choose a GX LTE 4G. Remotely changing settings or updating the firmware of the connected BMV, MPPT, or inverter is not possible with this module; however, switching the onboard relay is. Available for direct order. VE.Direct cables are not included and are required for any wired connection.
