The Victron GlobalLink 530 was developed to easily establish global connectivity for Victron systems via the LTE Cat 1 connectivity network. How does the Victron GlobalLink 530 LTE Cat 1 module work? The Victron GlobalLink 530 LTE Cat 1 connects to Victron devices via one of the two VE.Direct ports. These devices exchange data with the online Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal in the cloud via an LTE-M SIM card and module. This data is subsequently processed by a software application to perform a specific action, such as sending an alert or notification, or automatically adjusting a sensor or device without user intervention. If user intervention is required, or if the user wishes to view the system, a VRM portal can facilitate this. Simple system monitoring and control The GlobalLink 530 is equipped with two VE.Direct ports that allow you to connect up to two VE.Direct devices, such as a BMV Battery Monitor and/or an MPPT Solar Charge Controller, directly to the VRM. With two digital inputs, which also serve as pulse counters, and a remotely controllable relay, it is a perfect solution for monitoring and controlling your installation. Built-in antenna The GlobalLink 530 comes with a built-in antenna designed to work worldwide. However, if you desire better reception or wish to install your module in a van, for example, it is also possible to mount an external antenna. Victron remote management The online Victron Remote Management (VRM) portal gives you access to your installation anytime, anywhere. In VRM, you can check the status of your connected products, view detailed history graphs of your energy, generate detailed analytical reports, and even configure automatic alarms in case something goes wrong. What is LTE Cat1 technology? LTE Cat 1 (Long Term Evolution Category 1) is a specific 4G standard optimized for the Internet of Things (IoT) and machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. Unlike regular 4G, which focuses on maximum speed, Cat 1 offers a balance between lower costs, energy efficiency, and reliable data transfer. LTE Cat 1 connectivity with up to 10 Mbps (DL) and 5 Mbps (UL). Supported communication: LTE TDD, LTE-FDD, GSM, GPRS, EDGE.
