Victron MultiPlus-II 12/4k/160-32 230V Applications For large 12 V installations in motorhomes, yachts, and work vehicles that wish to remain on 12 V while still needing to run heavy AC loads. The 160 A charging current quickly recharges a substantial battery bank, and islanding protection enables grid-connected operation. More power per kilo and per cubic decimeter The latest generation MultiPlus-II delivers more power in the same form factor and performs better at high ambient temperatures: 3.4 kW continuous at 25 °C, 3.1 kW at 40 °C, and still 2.6 kW at 65 °C. Temporary extra power * 4 kW for 1 hour from cold start * 4.5 kW for 30 minutes from cold start * Peak power 6 kW for 2 seconds Charging at 160 A * 160 A charging current at 25 °C, 150 A at 40 °C * Adaptive charging technology with absorption 14.4 V, trickle 13.8 V, and storage mode 13.2 V * Battery temperature sensor included * Suitable for lithium, lead-acid, zinc-bromine, and other chemicals provided the charger is set according to the battery manufacturer's specifications ESS: Energy Storage and Self-Consumption All functions of the MultiPlus, supplemented with ESS functionality and built-in island protection. The unit combines freely with MPPT solar chargers and grid-connected PV inverters. The ESS Design and Installation manual applies to the system setup. External current sensor With the optional external AC current sensor, PowerControl and PowerAssist operate up to 50 A and 100 A respectively, and self-consumption is optimized based on external current measurement. The sensor is ordered separately. Two AC outputs The main output is uninterruptible and takes over within 20 milliseconds in the event of a power outage. The 32 A auxiliary output is only active as long as AC voltage is present at the input and is intended for non-critical consumers such as a water heater, which must not discharge the battery bank. PowerControl and PowerAssist Set the maximum mains or generator current: for charging, the device uses only what remains in addition to the other consumers. If the load briefly exceeds that limit, it is immediately topped up from the battery bank and recharged afterwards. The consumers on the auxiliary output are also included in this count. It is also configurable for DC undervoltage or generator start/stop. Load capacity 230 V/4 A AC and 4 A up to 35 VDC. Parallel and 3-phase operation Up to six units can be connected in parallel. Additionally, three identical units can be configured for a 3-phase output, and up to six of those sets can be coupled in parallel. Communication takes place via the VE.Bus port; in addition, two general-purpose communication ports are available.
