This new inverter/charger combination from Victron Energy is specifically designed for off-grid or grid-connected PV installations and alternative power systems. The MultiPlus-II combines a powerful 4000-Watt pure sine wave inverter, an advanced 55-amp battery charger with adaptive charging technology, and a high-speed AC transfer switch in a single compact housing. PowerAssist The MultiPlus-II prevents overloading of a limited AC source, such as a generator or shore connection. First, battery charging is automatically reduced to prevent overloading. Then, the second level, using power from the battery, increases the output from the generator or shore power. ESS: Energy Storage Systems The MultiPlus-II is the key component of the Victron ESS (energy storage system), providing a flexible combination with MPPT solar chargers or grid-connected PV inverters. Uninterruptible AC power (UPS function) In the event of a power outage, or if shore or generator power is disconnected, the inverter within the Multi will automatically activate and take over power to the connected devices. This happens so quickly (within 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronics can continue to function undisturbed. Remote monitoring and control You can monitor and control your Multi and system(s) from anywhere in the world.
